Get to Know Mesquite, Nevada

Picturesque Mesquite, Nevada is nestled in a valley amongst mesas and mountains.

Located only 80 miles north of Las Vegas, Mesquite is nestled in the picturesque Virgin River Valley surrounded by scenic vistas and flat-top, red mesas. The friendly small town atmosphere of this community is complemented by resorts and casinos, seven championship golf courses, ease of access to outdoor recreation, and proximity to national and state parks.

Since its incorporation in 1984, Mesquite has experienced rapid growth, at one time being named “The fastest growing city in America” for it’s size. The population stands at 25,000. With this growth has come an increase of businesses and services never before enjoyed by residents of the area.

The construction of a new high school, a new middle school and two new elementary schools reflect the increase of young families in the population. Housing developments are creating beautiful neighborhoods for residents of all ages. Access to newly opened land west of Mesquite has been made possible by the addition of a new I-15 interchange encouraging the construction of new light industry.

Golf is one of the top Mesquite attractions with nine courses within 10 minutes of the city center. The dramatic Virgin Mountain foothills cradle the golf courses, each offering a unique playing experience.

You can enjoy live entertainment, 24-hour casino action, delicious dining, and exciting annual special events. Like its southern Nevada sister cities (Las Vegas and Laughlin) Mesquite enjoys a warm desert climate with over 300 days of sunshine a year.
